If you can walk unassisted, you will give it better star points. I just have a very difficult time using my walker in the gravel. My daughter wants to go there often to bird watch and bug watch. It's really nice to see all the little signage for the plants.

This a pretty cool spot and not well known around San Diego. It is dedicated to California Native Plants and Trees, and there is also a section dedicated to the native tribes of the area. The garden offers nice paths that meander through the park and one that goes around the perimeter as well. There is a dedicated dog park area that is fenced off, benches scattered about, and several information billboards around specific areas. Many of the plant and tree species have identifiers at their bases. There are areas meant to attract butterflies, a pollinator garden, and a Kumeyaay Ethnobotany Garden with great information regarding ancient people that lived in the area. To my surprise, there's also an adjacent skate park. Parking is available.

San Diego mulch delivered all the natural woodchips there and now the native plants are thriving and the wood chips suppress the weeds. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped clean up this area and make this an enjoyable area to walk, jog and exercise. Flowers blooming and butterfly's everywhere
